MEET SARA
Sara Bitter has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Cincinnati and a Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She is also a Law Trainee Graduate of the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) Program at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
She has worked at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and the University of Cincinnati University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCCEDD) where she was engaged in working on statewide policies and programs throughout Ohio in the areas of employment, community integration and peer support for families of children and adults living with developmental disabilities, special health care and mental health needs. Previously, Sara was the Co-Chair for the 2015 Cincinnati ReelAbilities Film Festival and the Chair of the Education Outreach Committee.
She has been an active volunteer in her children’s schools and has served on numerous community boards. Sara is an attorney with the Children’s Law Center and currently serves as a School Board President in the Sycamore Community School District. She was elected to the Sycamore Board of Education in November 2021. Current term: 2022-2025.

Our Board has managed taxpayer dollars responsibly – focusing on clear priorities, setting financial parameters and delivering on promises.
- Bond Levy (2019): Provided funding for several new district buildings
- Operating Levy (2016): Promised to last five years; it has lasted more than eight
- Lower Bond Millage: Collecting 1.25 mills less than originally projected
- Lowest in 20 Years: Overall millage rate is at a two-decade low
